So what can I tell you about me?? I grew up in a small yet charming town called Camden, South Carolina. I moved to Lexington, South Carolina almost 17 years ago after falling in love with the sweetest man in the world. Of course, I am talking about my awesome husband, Eric!
We started an adventure to adopt a child and luckily after six, yes SIX failed adoptions, four years and alot of despair, we brought home this beautiful little 5lb 12 oz bundle of giggles and joy named Hannah Katherine. Yes, we live in the south and double names are just the lot in life. :Sigh: Hannah is eleven years old and keeps her daddy and I on our toes. She is so hilarious and constantly keeps us laughing or dying of embarrassment. We never know whats coming.
The day I bought my first DSLR camera renewed a passion in me to capture all of God's beauty as often as I can. And when I say often, yes I mean my camera is attached at my hip and I frequently get the eye roll and huffing as I stop to make a memory in my head as well as on my screen.
I feel that I look at things differently but hope that quirkiness helps me to capture expressions in a different light. I have always been the archivist in my family. The one who stuck the camera in everyone's faces while they groaned and tried to hide. As I have grown older, I realize that people may not live forever but I can sure make great images to remember them by.
I have more of a photojournalist approach. I know that families want the group formal images for their wall but I also like to give them real emotions. A mother dancing the first dance with her married son, the fiancee as he watches his beautiful new bride walk down the aisle, a mom or dad's face as they see their newborn baby for the very first time. This is life, these are emotions and they are real!!
Whether I am shooting memories of a bride and groom making that forever vow or the first portraits a family has had in 10 years; I do my best to capture a memory that will last a lifetime.
